Where we are

The terrace on Lake Trasimeno

We are in Panicale (PG), recognised as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, which is called “the terrace on Lake Trasimeno” due to its location. Perched on a hill at the foot of Mount Petrarvella, between the Trasimeno and Nestore valleys, the village still retains the elliptical structure typical of medieval castles.

The village is enriched by numerous works of art

  • The Martyrdom of St Sebastian, a fresco by Perugino from 1505.
  • The Cesare Caporali Theatre, the second smallest theatre in Europe dating back to 1692, with a curtain painted by Mariano Piervittori in 1869
  • The Collegiate Church of St Michael Archangel dates back to the period between the 10th and 11th centuries. Inside, in the apse, is the Annunciation, attributed to Masolino da Panicale.
  • The Tulle Museum located in the Church of St Augustine.
  • The Church of the Madonna della Sbarra, named after the place where duty was once paid, with the Museum of Sacred Vestments inside.
